It started as a dot;
It decided to move on.
Quickly resorted to a shape,
Announcing its transformation.
“Think Big” it said,
We call it zero, though.

From its roots in India,
It travelled places,
Looking for acceptance
As a symbol of nothing.
Isn’t that motivating?

Weathered the brainstorm
Prevailed against all the odds
Convinced the world
And stretched its boundaries.

Struck a deal with One
Allowed him to lead
Followed him with a purpose
Taught him to grow
From One to a Trillion

They joined hands again;
It was a revolution this time.
The digital world was born
From a family of Zeros and Ones.

Would it be fair
To brand someone as zero
When the onus is on the individual
And the number has no role.

Zero has evolved
And helped us evolve.

For the heroes who come and go
The zero is here to stay.
